The Prairie Patch Craft Show began in
1999 with 20 vendors and attendance of a couple hundred shoppers.
Now we fill our three gyms to capacity with 120 vendor spaces and
attendance exceeding 2,000. This annual event has become the local
area kick-off to the holiday shopping season and a social event for
many friends and families.
Homemade food, generous booth space
and handicapped accessibility make for an inviting environment for
vendors and shoppers alike. We charge modest booth and table rental,
but do not take a percentage of vendor sales. The public is admitted
free of charge.
The SES community provides
wonderful volunteers who eagerly help to make this event successful.
Each year, they often ask for ‘their’ jobs as they establish a
favorite location to volunteer.
The Prairie Patch is sponsored by
the Southeast of Saline Education Foundation, and allows fund
raising opportunities for school organizations as well as community
groups. In recent years nearly 80% of our vendors have met or
exceeded their sales expectations. It is our goal to attract local
talented artists and craftsmen as well as those who professionally
travel the craft show circuit. Vendors from across Kansas and
surrounding states have exhibited here and comment on the wonderful
organization, facilities and volunteers.
The Prairie Patch Café offers a
variety of homemade rolls, soups, sandwiches and pies. Our dining
room affords a “reunion-type” atmosphere as people meet up here to
share their day.
