Mrs. Willard's Second Grade class read Abe Lincoln's Hat by Martha Brenner. One scene in the book describes one of Abe's trials. Mrs. Willard's class wrote letters to the judge trying to convince him that Abe's client was innocent. They put their letters to the judge inside of their home-made Abe hats, just like Abraham Lincoln did. Abraham Lincoln was famous for putting his important papers inside of his tall black hat. |
