Issue 5

Wednesday, 1-4 Make story assignments. Fold and send exchange papers. J1 - work on personal publications. J2 - get templates ready. The new J1 deadline to have a copy of your publication hanging on the back wall will be Wednesday, 1-11. Introduce contest materials for Feb 23 regional contest.
Friday, 1-6 Choose contest categories and see Simply Better on the wiki to see past contest winners. Prepare a list of reasons you think the 3A-4A entry in your category was a winner. Due end of block

Monday, 1-09 J1 personal publications due for approval. Plan contest entries. See this link.
Wednesday, 1-11 Mr. Mac gone to league meeting. All J1 personal publications due, hanging on board. Work on carry-in contests.

Friday, 1-21 Final story deadline.
Monday, 1-24 Layout
Wednesday, 1-26 Layout
Friday, 1-28 Finish Trojournal layout.
Monday, 1-30 Add girls' BB story to the layout. Proofread.
Tuesday, 1-31 Distribute Trojournals.

PUBLICATION DATES: The Trojournal tentatively will be published nine times on the following days:

· Sept. 23, (Friday, Homecoming Day -- Ellsworth FB, home VB Tuesday, week of the Sept. 20 SES XC inv.; no school Sept. 5 and 6)

· Oct. 26 (Friday, 3 weeks after HC, Marion FB, 4 weeks before Nov. 10 &12 musical, regional xc next day; VB vs. Sacred Heart Tuesday, Oct. 18) Note: There is no school Monday, so we’ll have only Wednesday this week to put the paper to bed.

· Nov. 18 (Friday, week before T-giving break, week after musical, week of sub-state FB) - not much time after the October issue; do your features in October.

· Dec. 20 (Tuesday, the day before Christmas break and end of semester; BB at Ellsworth that night; wrestling double dual Thursday, Dec. 15.)

· Jan. 31 (Tuesday, last day of girls’ BB inv. is Friday, Jan. 27; SH BB night; contest prep month)

· Feb. 17 (Friday, first day of regional wrestling, week before journalism contest at KSU. Week before Feb. 24/25 Winter Play and state wr. No school Feb. 6 or 10. This will be a very tough deadline. Work ahead!)

· March 15 (Thursday, week after state basketball, day before spring break, NO SCHOOL FRIDAY, 2 weeks before March 31 regional music; 4 weeks before April 14 Prom)

· April 24 (Tuesday, 4 days before state music; BB, SB, track, golf that day)

· May 18 (Friday before end of school, senior commencement two days later, regional track that night, state golf Monday the next week; state softball, baseball and track May 25 and 26)
