  • New Content Filter in place

On the Tuesday after Labor Day, September 5, a new internet content filter for USD 306 was put into operation.  It was our intention to have the new filter in place in time for school to start, but some technical snags were encountered that delayed its implementation.

The main difference between the new filter and the old filter is that our Students' Chrome Books will now be filtered off-campus.  The same "rules" that determine acceptable/appropriate websites while in school are now being used when the Chrome Books are being used outside of school.

The majority of our students use their devices for their intended educational purpose and their non-school use of them is appropriate and socially acceptable. However, we came to the conclusion that a new filter was needed due to some incidents last year when student devices were used inappropriately.  We as educators believe it to be our responsibility to do what we can to protect the safety and well-being of our students; and especially if school-owned equipment is being used in unsafe and inappropriate manner.  NO content filter is 100% fool-proof;  but it provides another layer of protection that can be "tweaked" and updated as needed.

    New Ag Instructor/FFA Advior

Hi all! My name is Beth Augustine. I will be the new Ag Instructor/FFA Advisor for the upcoming school year. I am originally from Ellis, KS. I grew up on the family farm with my parents, two sisters and brother. We raised Angus cattle and produced a variety of crops. I was especially involved in FFA during high school. I was a three-year Chapter Officer as well as NW District President. I also received my State FFA Degree based off of my Supervised Agriculture Experience. I continued my education at Kansas State University. While there, I was a member of the Ag Ed Club Leadership team for two years. This past May I graduated with degree in Agricultural Education and a minor in Horticulture. I am so eager to continue my purple pride at Southeast of Saline!
