I have been a law enforcement officer for 19 years. My career began as a police officer for the city of Salina. During my employment as a police officer, I held the positions of patrol officer, safety officer, dispatcher and left as a detective. I interrupted my law enforcement career to marry and have a family. During this time, I did a lot of substitute teaching in elementary, middle, and high school. I learned that I really enjoyed interacting with students. Life circumstances brought me back into law enforcement, a career I truly love. The opportunity to become a school resource officer presented itself in 2006. I began working at Southeast of Saline as the S.R.O. at that time. The role of the school resource officer is to teach, mentor and maintain my role as a law enforcement officer. I teach the D.A.R.E., and the G.R.E.A.T. curriculum to the 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students. I sponsor the high school SES scholastic Crimestoppers organization. Of the many positions I have held in law enforcement, I find this position is the one I truly enjoy and appreciate. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with your students and being a part of the SES schools.
